Your driver list lives in someone's phone
drivers fleet-operations
Ask most small-to-mid-size fleet operators for a full list of their drivers — names, licences, which depot they're based at, who to call if one doesn't arrive — and the honest answer comes from someone's phone, not a system. A contact list. A spreadsheet last updated when someone remembered to. Knowledge that walks out the door with whoever's been at the company longest.
It works, until it doesn't: the dispatcher who knows everyone takes leave, or leaves for good, and the next person is reconstructing the driver roster from WhatsApp groups and guesswork.
RouteFast holds each driver as a record tied to the system, not to a person's contacts: who they are, which depot they belong to, how to reach them — visible to anyone with access, not just whoever set it up. That record already includes which master route a driver is assigned to — this isn't just a contact card.
It also already tracks where a driver is once they're on the road — the app reports live location, which feeds a tracking page built for the customer on that delivery, not the dispatcher. What it replaces is narrower and more immediate: the part of the operation currently stored in a phone that isn't the company's.
If the honest answer to "who's driving today, and how do I reach them" involves opening someone's contacts, that's not a driver management problem. It's a driver management absence.
