The whiteboard doesn't scale past one depot

fleet-operations

A single depot with a handful of vehicles runs fine on a whiteboard, a spreadsheet, and whoever's been there longest knowing which driver covers which run. It's not elegant, but it works, because one person can hold the whole operation in their head.

Add a second depot and that stops being true. Now there are two whiteboards, two spreadsheets, and no single view of who's covering what, where. Add a driver on leave, a route that needs splitting, or a new site opening, and the coordination cost isn't linear — it's worse, because keeping separate records in sync is where things get missed: a route nobody's assigned, a change made in one place that never made it to the other.

RouteFast holds depots, master routes, and drivers as records in one system rather than local knowledge per site. A depot is set up once. A master route is defined once, not rebuilt from memory every time somebody needs it. A driver's record lives in the same system as the depot and the routes, not in a separate roster kept by whoever manages that site.

The value isn't the data entry. It's that when you're the one trying to answer "who's covering the north depot's Tuesday run" from head office, the answer lives in a system — not in a phone call to whoever's in that building.
